How to Play PokéWired

PokéWired (also written Pokémon Wired) is a free daily Pokémon puzzle about connecting two Pokémon. You are given a start Pokémon and an end Pokémon, with empty slots in between. Your job is to fill those slots so that the whole chain links up — a bit like building a bridge of Pokémon between two points.

The goal

Every line between two neighbouring Pokémon is a connection — a rule that both of them have to satisfy. For example, a connection might require that the two Pokémon share a type, belong to the same evolution line, or that the left one is super effective against the right one. The puzzle is solved when every connection in the path is valid (green).

Step by step

1. Tap an empty slot in the chain.
2. Search for a Pokémon by name or Pokédex number and pick it.
3. Tap any connection between two Pokémon to see exactly which rule it asks for.
4. A connection turns green when it is satisfied and red when the two Pokémon do not match.
5. When every connection is green, the path is complete and you win. Try to do it in as few moves as possible for a better score.

Daily, Unlimited and Chain modes

In Daily mode everyone gets the same Pokémon puzzle each day. In Unlimited mode you get endless random puzzles to play whenever you want. Both come in Normal and Hard difficulty, and you can turn on optional hints that reveal useful data about each Pokémon.

Chain mode (an endless Pokémon chain, sometimes called PokéChain) is a survival twist: a Pokémon and a rule appear, you pick a Pokémon that satisfies the connection, it becomes the new head, and a fresh rule appears. Keep the chain going without repeating any Pokémon and see how far you can get on 1 or 3 lives. Your best run is saved per difficulty.

Every connection type

• Same color — Same Pokédex color
• Egg group — Share an egg group
• Top stat = — Same highest stat
• Same line — Same evolution line
• Same stage — Same evolution stage
• Super effective vs — Left is super effective on right
• Weak to — Left is weak to right
• Same ability — Share an ability
• Same shape — Same body shape
• Shared weakness — Share a type weakness
• Both final — Both fully evolved
• Same habitat — Same habitat
• Both legendary — Both legendary or mythical
• Power ≈ — Similar base power (±25 BST)
• Same types — Identical type combo
• Mono/dual = — Same number of types (mono/dual)
• Shared resist. — Resist a common type
• Immunity — One is immune to a type of the other
• No shared type — Share no type
• Counters — Left is super effective on right and resists its type
• Same attack — Same attack style (physical/special)
• Worst stat = — Same lowest stat
• Faster than — Left is faster (base Speed)
• Stronger than — Left has higher total power (BST)
• Heavier than — Left is heavier
• No evo — Neither one evolves

• More HP than — Left has higher base HP

• Pseudo-legend. — Both pseudo-legendaries (600 BST, non-legendary)
• Both starters — Both are starter Pokémon
• Both mono — Both are single-type
• Both big — Both are big (2 m or taller)

Tips

• Start with the connection that has the fewest possible answers — it usually locks the rest of the chain into place.
• Each Pokémon you place affects the connections on both of its sides, so a single card often solves two connections at once.
• Turn on hints if you get stuck: they show the type, evolution and other data that the connections care about.
• A Pokémon's card glows green only when all of its connections are satisfied, so use the cards to track your progress at a glance.
